  1. Get 500 grams raw amla (gooseberry fruit)
  2. Make ready 200 ml mustard oil
  3. Prepare 100 grams achar/pickle masala
  4. Take 1 tsp turmeric powder
  5. Get 2 tbsp red chilli powder
  6. Prepare 1.5 tbsp salt

  3. Mix all the spices and salt to the amla.Put in a glass/ceramic jar.Pour mustard oil over amla.Tie the jar mouth with a muslin/cotton cloth.
  4. Keep in sunlight.Next day remove muslin cloth and close the jar with lid.(i used muslin cloth for the first day because extra moisture could evaporate in the sunlight.
  5. Keep the jar in sunlight for 1 week.Amla pickle is ready tobe served.
