The sweetness for this burfi comes from the dried figs and little amount of dates and a good amount of mixed nuts are used to add crunch and volume. Some recipes call for mawa or milk powder to make an anjeer barfi which i have not used, Skeptical about the combo of. A fig barfi recipe is a classic Indian sweet treat welcome at the Diwali table.

The ingredients needed to make Fig burfi:
- Prepare Dates – 10 chopped
- Take 30 Figs –
- Prepare 3 tbsp Chopped Nuts* –
- Make ready tsp Ghee -2
- Take 1 tbsp pistachio powder
- Prepare 1/8 tsp Cardamom powder –

A teaspoon of ghee together with saffron and cardamom imparts a rich and magical aroma to this quick barfi, while the sesame seeds imparts a. Dried Fig Barfi & Dried Fig Rolls are ready to serve.
Steps to make Fig burfi:
- Deseed dates.Chop them roughly.Soak figs in hot water for a while.In 1/2 tsp ghee fry the chopped nuts and set aside.
- Drain water and take soaked figs in a mixer and grind it to a paste,Set aside.Now add chopped dates and grind to a paste
- In a pan add a tsp ghee add the fig dates mixture and keep sauteing for 5mins, add little ghee in between.At one stage it will forma mass and will come together without sticking
- At this stage add roasted nuts and give a quick mix, Switch off and set aside to cool.
- Make 2 logs from the mixture and roll over roasted pistachio powder to coat the outer layer.
- Wrap it in a butter paper.I made one log with poppy seeds coating and other plain.
- Wrap it tightly and refrigerate it atleast for 2 hrs.Then slice and serve.
