The ingredients needed to make Honey Almond Cake:
- Take 200 Grams Flour
- Get 175 Grams Butter
- Get 85 Grams Honey
- Get 85 Grams Caster Sugar
- Make ready 85 Grams Almonds , ground
- Make ready 1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
- Make ready 1 Teaspoon Baking Soda
- Prepare 100 Grams Yogurt
- Prepare 1 Egg yolk
- Prepare 2 Egg white
- Take 1 Egg , whole
- Get 85 Grams Almond cashewnut / , flaked
- Get 4 Tablespoons Honey
Cool on rack to room temperature. Combine all ingredients in mixing bowl. Cream until light and well blended. Brush cake with warmed honey as soon as it comes out of the oven.
Steps to make Honey Almond Cake:
- Preheat the oven to 180C. Grease and line the cake tin.
- Put Honey, Butter, Caster Sugar, Ground almonds, Flour, Baking powder, Baking soda and Yogurt into a mixing bowl.
- Put the egg whites in another bowl. Whisk the whites till they are stiff.
- Put the yolk and one whole egg along with ingredients in Step 2 and beat until smooth.
- Stir in a third of the egg whites, then gently fold it to the mixture with a spatula.
- Put the mixture in the cake tin. Level the batter with a spatula.
- Scatter over the Ground Almonds or Cashwenuts.
- Bake the cake for 55 min or as per the cake tin you use. Perform the skewer test (skewer inserted comes out clean).
- Remove the cake from oven, drizzle 2 Tablespoon Honey and scatter a pinch of salt. Put back in oven for 5 min. Remove from oven, drizzle with 2 tablespoon more of Honey.
Remove the springform pan's outer ring and let cake stand until cool. Decorate cake top with sliced almonds, if desired. Cake can be stored overnight at room temperature before serving.
