- Make ready 3 cups all purpose flour
- Get 1 tsp salt
- Prepare 1 tsp sugar
- Get 1 tbls instant yeast (Sachet type)
- Get 2 tbls melted butter
- Make ready 1 1/2 cups warm water
- Prepare 1 tbls chia seeds
- Get 1 tbls flaxseed
- Get 1 tbls vegetable oil
- Get 1 tbls milk
Chia seeds and flaxseeds are both seeds that are high in fiber and protein. Chia seeds are more bland, tasteless and round, while flaxseeds are more oval shaped and have a stronger, nutty flavor. This bread is so crispy and yummy that you will not be able to stop. I made when I was sick.
Steps to make Chia and flaxseed bread:
- Mix the dry ingredients and then add butter and mix till combined
- Gradually add water to the flour mixture (you might not need to use all of the water) until a soft dough is formed
- Knead dough by hand or in a mixer until dough is soft and pliable
- Coat the dough with the vegetable oil, cover with a damp cloth and allow to rise until it doubles in size
- Remove dough and shape it into an oval shape. Allow to rise for another 30-45 minutes (allowing the dough to rise again makes the bread softer)
- Pre-heat oven at 180 degrees (Celsius) and using brush the milk over the bread before baking for 45-50 minutes, or until top is golden brown
- Allow to cool on a cooling rack before slicing and serving.
